Negotiating styles vary greatly by individual. What kind of negotiator are you?
Harvard Business Review just published a very cool and easy-to-use assessment tool from Michael Wheeler that helps you figure out your own approach to negotiating. You just need to answer a short series of questions and then you'll get a customized report about your negotiating style and how it measures up to the average. It also gives you helpful tips about how to improve your technique. You can find the assessment tool here (HBR.org subscription required). There's also an app version called Negotiation 360, which you can purchase for $2.99 in the App Store.
